DCYA FUNDED PROGRAMMES

These programmes provide financial support to parents on eligible training courses and eligible categories of parents returning to work, by providing subsidised childcare places. The programmes are:

​ECCE (Free Preschool Year)

The Early Childhood and Education programme provides children with their first formal experience of early learning before they start primary school.

The programme is provided for three hours per day, five days per week over 38 weeks per year. The ECCE term runs from September to June each year. If your child avails of full days or long hours within Absolute Angels then the subsidy received from the government for the 38 week ECCE scheme will be deducted from their fees during term time (September and June).

Children are eligible for two full programme years of ECCE. Children must be at least 2 years and 8 months of age by August 31st of the year of entry to the programme.

National Childcare Scheme (NCS)

The National Childcare Scheme is a new scheme for Ireland and is also the first ever statutory entitlement to financial support for childcare. 

This scheme establishes a asystem of universal and income-related subsidies for children up to the age of 15.
